This last Saturday (Jan. 24th if you were wondering) Gavin spied Jason's shoes and was on a mission to eat them. He scooted himself across the floor to get to Jason who was brushing Sugar on the tile floor by the front door. This just happened to be the first time he scooted in succession to get somewhere. All the other times he would push himself once and then give up and just roll where he wanted to be. Now he is a scooting machine!! Nothing is safe!

Gavin has some new tricks he started after the new year. He's still working out the kinks on sitting by himself. It lasts a few seconds and then...

Ft. Lauderdale for New Year's!

On Dec. 26th we flew to Ft. Lauderdale to spend the week with my family. Who was there might you ask?...Daddy, Mai, Sam, Matt, Jason, Jen, Gavin, Michelle, Dan, Patrick, Liz, and Audrey! We had a fun filled week in the sun! The weather was in the upper 70's to low 80's. It was MARVELOUS!!

Here are the HiGhLiGhTs: We rode on the air-boats in the Everglades and saw 4 alligators. We took a tour on the coast to see all the huge mansions. One word...Madden! Two words...Guitar Hero! Three words...games, games, games! Four words...golfing and spa treatments! One day we drove to South Beach and had great sea food and played in the ocean (which wasn't cold at all but apparently too cold for Gavin!) Jason and I were so excited to take Gavin to the ocean for the first time. Even though we live in Arizona (in the land of pools) Gavin has only experienced water during bath time. (which he LOVES!) The second I dipped Gavin's toes in the water he started whining. He didn't like it at all! We tried a few more times to get his feet wet but he kept crying. The funniest part was that he would even moan and whine when he saw the waves coming even though he wasn't in the water! Silly boy! The warm swimming pool was a different matter. Gavin did whine initially until he realized the water was warm and then he LOVED kicking and splashing in the pool! He was SO CUTE!!





Thanks Mom and Dad for a fun and memorable week in Ft. Lauderdale! We had a BLAST!!

Our First Family Christmas 2008

Christmas was WONDERFUL this year! Jason and I went a little crazy buying presents for Little Man! But hey, we can still use the first-time parents card right? We spent Christmas day here in Arizona, just the four of us (you might be thinking three but who can forget Sugar?). It was so nice to just be our little family and veg all day. It was very relaxing...not doing anything. We loved using the WebCam to see Jason's family and all their loot. My family spent the day on a plane to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where we met up with them on the 26th.

Here are the highlights: I got a Bosch mixer! Yes, Jason is the BEST husband ever! Jason got a BIG BOY phone (the T-Mobile google phone...I know...I totally rock). Gavin got so many awesome clothes and toys! My favorite was the vest hoodie from Launa and the Harley-Davidson clothes from the Garcia family. We watched football and a movie and ate Honey-baked ham...could Christmas get any better?...I submit that it cannot!

Putting the commercialization of Christmas aside, we also took time to remember the REAL reason for Christmas...to celebrate our Savior's birth. Christmas Eve we went to a family dinner at my aunt Karen's house where we had awesome food, sang Christmas hymns and read of Christ's birth from the Bible.
