Silly Kid

Gavin has been so silly lately. His appetite has been poor the last few months and to make sure he gets all the nutrients he needs we bought Carnation Instant Breakfast. Its chocolate powder that you can mix in milk and supplements all the minerals, vitamins and even has a little protein in it. So we give him some everyday and call it "chocolate milk." Every time Jason and I have our protein shakes after working out he has to have his shake too. It's so cute, he says "ont (I want) noc-i-noc" (chocolate milk). It makes me laugh every time he says it!A week or so ago, Gavin came up to me and said "poopies" and then went over to where I usually change his diaper and laid down. I guess he has done this to Jason as well. Well, for the past three days, we have gone in to get Gavin up in the morning and he has taken his pj's and diaper off! One of the times he managed to pee everywhere, but luckily no poop. He even tries to hide behind furniture to take off his shorts and diaper during the day. Funny story: the other day we were at the gym and Jason and I were paged back to the kids club where Gavin plays. As it turns out Gavin had removed his shorts, taken off his diaper, climbed on the table in all his glory and was whacking a kid in the head with his diaper! The workers promised not the tell the other kids' mom, thank goodness. My niece Audrey, used to do this and my mom suggested to Elizabeth to take footy pj's and cut off the feet and put them on backwards so the zipper is where she couldn't reach. Well, being June in Arizona there weren't footy pj's to be had, so we bought a few onsies and they have done the trick so far. Hopefully he doesn't figure out the snaps!

Matt's Graduation and Boating

The first week of June we flew to Houston for my baby brother Matt's high school graduation. It was so fun to have all but one of the siblings there. We met Virginia (my new 6 wk old niece) for the first time and also met Collin, Katherine's fiance. He was a brave man to come with all the family there, we are quite the bunch. We swam a couple times, went to the museum and went boating twice. All of which Gavin loved, although we didn't take a lot of pictures with our camera for some reason. My favorite part of the trip was how well Gavin and Audrey (my sister Elizabeth's 3 year old daughter) played. They were two peas in a pod and got into a lot of mischief together!
For the first time EVER, Gavin, out of the blue, crawled into my lap and fell asleep. He slept terribly the whole trip because we weren't able to fit his tent to keep him from climbing out of the crib on the plane and thus it took Jason and I HOURS to get him to sleep each night. Naps were a joke too.

Boating with Grandma Niece

The Man

Jason and Gavin tubing. Gavin LOVED tubing and I could even see him smiling from the boat while he was riding with his daddy.

Katherine, I believe this was after Collin had left. :(

Cute little Michaela. She tried water skiing this year and loved tubing with Jason.

I feel terrible I don't have any pictures of the GRAD, since that's what brought us all together but this year we decided not to take pictures right after the graduation ceremony since it was SO HOT and we had all the little ones. So I'll have to get the pictures Michelle took of us at home. I love you Matt and am so excited will be going to BYU, my Alma mater, in the fall! Go Cougars!

Busy Boy

Gavin is such a funny kid!! Jason and I laugh everyday at the cute things he does. Here's a peek into our lives through pictures...

Gavin helping Daddy put down sod in the yard.

Gavin chillin' watching a movie. His favorites at the moment are Monsters vs. Aliens, The Princess and the Frog, and Monsters Inc. Occasionally he'll watch Cars and Finding Nemo. He also still loves Baby Einstein.

What a HAM! Having fun at his favorite place: the Phoenix Zoo.

Gavin's first haircut was April 10th. He fussed and squirmed until another kind hair dresser gave him a sucker and then he was perfect.

Gavin thinks he is a BIG BOY now and most of the time refuses to sit and eat in his highchair. He likes to sit at the table with Mom and Dad(with no booster so don't even try). He loves to eat Mommy's yogurt and as you can see, has also swiped my hair brush!

Sorry for the blurry picture, but if you look closely you can see that Gavin has white stuff all over his face and hair. He is constantly getting into the upstairs closet and plays with my candles. It's the only door up there that doesn't lock, and yes we lock all the other doors and have to go around with a flathead screwdriver to get into our rooms. This started after he was caught several times playing in the toilet. (sorry no pics, each time I was so disgusted by him being in the toilet that I yanked out before thinking about getting a picture.) Silence means trouble! Here he has gotten into one of my candles and tried to do his hair (the wax looks a lot like his hair gel). So we did his hair with the wax since it was already all over plus he smelled quite nice. :)

The Beach in California

While we were at Disneyland we took one afternoon to go to the beach. I was rather chilly and windy however, so we didn't stay long. Gavin had a BLAST in the water and sand despite the weather!
