Disneyland October 2012

Three reasons for the spontaneous trip to Disneyland in October:  1.)  Ellie fell in love with Mickey Mouse in August and we wanted to take her while she was in this phase.  2.) We have always heard Disneyland decorated for Halloween is really fun and the park isn't as crowded.  3.) We needed a family get-away!  We invited my mom to come with us because she hasn't seen the kids a lot lately being on a mission for our church and she had an emergency appendectomy 2 days before we went to Disney World with her and my family.  She didn't really get to enjoy it with the grand kids since she was in pain and in a wheelchair.  We spent two days in the park and it was FABULOUS!!  We did whatever the kids wanted to do and didn't really bother with any of the big rides since Gavin is scared to ride them.  I love seeing the kids have so much fun and their excitement makes it all worth it!

Ellie was SO EXCITED to be at Disneyland that she wouldn't let her best friends go, she had to have them right there for all the fun!

Totally cute!  Disneyland decorated for Halloween is my new favorite!

The backpack leash worked like a charm with Ellie.  She actually liked to put it on whereas Gavin threw HUGE fits when we made him wear it at about the same age.

Haunted House decorated as Nightmare Before Christmas!  TOTALLY AWESOME!!

Gotta love the popsicles

Ellie in the car in Toon Town
First day, walked into the park and BAM, pictures with Mickey and Goofy!!  Minnie walked by, (heading for a break) and Ellie started running after her calling her name!  It was so cute, too bad we had to wait to get a picture with her the next day!

I love that Ellie loves hats, she kept her ears on the whole day!

waiting in line...doesn't he look happy

Mom and Gavin on Peter Pan

Gavin tries every time to free the sword but it just won't budge, maybe next time buddy!

Mommy and Ellie on the carousel

Daddy and Gavin on the carousel

Gavin and Grandma Niece

Ellie actually like the Tea cups and tried to help turn the wheel

Once Jason actually got in, we had a FULL tea cup but we spun pretty fast!

Ellie had some constipation problems while we were there and would suddenly stop and crouch like this to try and poop.  It was really sad.  She cried for 45 min and wouldn't get out of this position even when holding her one day.

Ah, the Winnie the Pooh ride!  It's still the favorite.  What would Pooh say to Gavin stealing his honey?

Just like brother...what can I say?

Grandma Niece and Ellie waiting in line to meet Tigger

Ellie couldn't wait to meet all the characters and then was DEATHLY afraid of them once it was our turn.  She would always wave goodbye and blow kisses while we were walking away. Silly girl.

Cars Land

Mommy doing Ellie's hair, yes it's finally long enough, before a day out at the park

Toy Story Mania

Ellie waiting in line.  Gavin at this age was a terror while we waited in line, but Ellie did great!

Gavin and Ellie LOVED Disney Junior interactive play.  They both were so into it doing all the motions.

Halloween Decor at Disneyland,  I LOVE IT!!

The gang, minus Daddy who is taking the pic, at Toon Town.

Finally, a picture with Minnie!  But as you can see, Ellie is not too happy until we start walking away.

A Visit from Nana and Bockba

Nana and Bockba came down to visit for the week of Sept. 17th.  It was SOOOO fun to have them.  The kids love spending time with Nana and I love the company.  It's nice just to have another adult around the house to talk to during the day.  We didn't do anything spectacular but had a relaxing visit just playing and having fun.  And of course we had to go to the park!! Nana and Bockba were even able to see half of Gavin's soccer game before they had to leave on Saturday.  Thanks for coming to visit!  We love you!

Sunday Ritual

A while ago, I can't remember exactly, Jason and the kids started watching what Gavin calls "funny videos," aka American's Funniest Home Videos Sunday nights.  It is now a Sunday ritual and both the kids (yes Ellie does laugh, but I think more because everyone else is laughing than what's on the tv) LOVE it!  They are so excited to snuggle up to Dad and watch...and of course, laugh!!
