My Angel of Sanity

So, my family had been planning to visit us for their spring break but couldn't because of the economy and the hurricane that tore the roof off their business rendering the building unusable for a few months. Rats! Stupid money! Then my in-laws canceled their trip down here over Easter because my sister-in-law got engaged and my brother-in-law put in his mission papers. Stupid money! So I was throwing myself a huge pity party about it because I had gotten so excited to have family visiting to have it all come to naught (I wasn't too shy about sharing my sad story either!) Well, to my surprise two Saturdays ago I was at work and decided to check my email. AAAHHHH...there was a email from my mom with a flight itinerary showing that she was arriving in two days and staying for 6! YEAH! She didn't know it but she chose the BEST week ever to come and visit. I am the enrichment leader in our ward and our HUGE quarterly enrichment program was set for that Thursday. I had been working on it since January and was a complete stress case trying to work out all the details in time. My mom was my ANGEL OF SANITY the whole week. She got up with Gavin at 6am each morning and let me get a few more hours of sleep since he'd been waking up at 2 or 3am as well and watched Gavin allowing me to get everything done I needed to for our program. Without her I would have been a basket case, huddled in the corner of the bathroom crying. She was the biggest help and greatest blessing I could have had that week. Unfortunately we didn't do anything fun until after the enrichment program Thursday night, which was ok with her since she came to play with Gavin anyway. Saturday morning we hiked up Wind Cave Trail which was really fun! THANK YOU mom for a great visit! You are the best! LOVE YOU!
