What a difference a year makes... Last season you would've thought Santa was the Beared Goatwoman from the Black Lagoon. Gavin flipped out each time we made him (yes we were willing to chance traumatization) sit with Santa so Jen could take her favorite "child screaming and crying photos" with Jolly St. Nick. However, this year with all the courage of a two-year old, Gavin marched right up to Kris Kringle, jumped up on his lap, and began to tell him about all the Buzz Lightyear, games, trucks, and guy stuff he wanted Santa to bring him. Santa was so good with him and responded exactly the way Gavin wanted. Of course no visit with Santa would be complete without the obligatory candy cane, which Gavin insisted upon eating immediately.
Now this Santa was different than most in that our friends Josh and Dani had notified Santa ahead of time that Gavin would be coming. Therefore, Santa had a wrapped toy for him! Gavin flipped out with excitement, ripped the paper off, and found a truck/track set. Little man picked up the present, struggled to hurry under the size and weight of the gift, blew past the other kids in line to see Santa and walked right up to the old man to show him the gift he got from him and tell him thank you. He was so excited there was no deterring him from expressing his enthusiasm to Santa. One year ago Santa was the devil, now he is the freaking bomb!
