Christmas 2012

 For Christmas this year we flew to West Palm Beach, Florida to spend the holidays with my family at the beach.  The weather was BEAUTIFUL and nice and warm.  Everyone was there except Jennifer Anne and Matt (whose still on a mission in Ogden, UT).  The kids had a BLAST playing with cousins, aunts and uncles, and of course, Papa and Grandma Niece.  They loved playing on the beach making sand castles and burying themselves in the sand.  Gavin liked playing in the water, but Ellie hated it and cried every time we took her near the ocean.  She was content to stay up shore playing in the sand!

My dad has a few trick kites and we all had fun taking turns flying them on the beach as well.

Christmas Eve we had a cute program where we read about Christ's birth and the kids got to put together the Little People manger scene and a talent show.  My parents also brought their bells (professional set) and we sang and played Christmas songs which was really fun.  (A lot more fun than the last time we tried it 3 years ago!)  Since this Christmas we decided to get the kids new bikes, helmets and other outside toys we told the kids Santa was bringing our toys early this year since he knew we wouldn't be able to fly home with them. The Saturday morning before Christmas Santa came to our house which was fun. So on the real Christmas morning we just had stockings to open and then gifts from grandma and grandpa and the rest of the family.

What a fun Christmas week!  We loved the beach and spending time with family!  Other fun activities included eating out at all the seafood places, golfing for the boys, a facial and massage (thank you honey!) and bowling!
