Though I often describe myself as shy and slightly introverted, I love to laugh and joke around with people. Growing up I was a brainiac in school and focused mostly on my studies. Science was my favorite subject and I loved learning about the amazing inner workings of the human body. Since high school I knew I wanted to work in the emergency room. So, I guess it is no surprise that I became an ER nurse. After four years working in the ER, I still love the fast-paced, ever-changing atmosphere where I am able to provide care and compassion to others when they need it most. In college I discovered another love...ballroom dance. At first I took a class because my aunt said it was a good way to meet boys and as an alternative to PE. I wasn't planning on falling in love with both the latin and standard forms of ballroom dance, but from that point on I couldn't get enough. Eventually I made one of the ballroom dance teams at the university and discovered I LOVED performing! I like other forms of dance as well such as ballet, jazz and hip hop. I am the type of person that would much rather dance for exercise than run or cycle. At present my new favorite pastimes are yoga and pilates. Music is a huge part of my life. Throughout high school I took classical voice and piano lessons. While I am shamefully out of practice, I still enjoy singing and playing the piano. Not a day goes by where I don't listen to music at some point. My music taste encompasses pretty much everything except rap, although I am not really a country fan at present. Whenever I watch TV or a movie, it is always the music that stands out to me and that I connect with most. I am constantly searching for new and obscure artists and buying music from iTunes. A few of my favorite things include: clothes/shoe shopping, pedicures, ICE CREAM, sunshine (which works out nicely living in Arizona), sun bathing, reading, movies and hanging out with my girlfriends. On my days off work I look forward to taking a book, blanket, snacks and our dog Sugar, and reading on the grass. Living with a sports fanatic, I guess it was inevitable that it would eventually rub off on me. While I am not the paint-my-face-the-school-colors kind of fan, I do like to watch college football and NBA basketball. I enjoy activities such as beach volleyball, boating, wake boarding, miniature golfing and bowling. I am an animal lover. Shamefully I have to admit that I have cried on more than one occasion watching animal planet. I am a dog and a horse person. As a child, we used to go horseback riding in Jackson Hole every year. I hope to one day own my own horse. Most of all I love to laugh and be goofy with my husband, family and friends. We often get together with friends to play Settlers of Catan, Guitar Hero and other games on the Wii. I am so excited to be a mother and love spoiling my three nieces and our best friends’ children.
