Conversation at the park

The other day at the park, Gavin and I had the funniest conversation.

(back story: Gavin loves playing with his dinosaurs and loves to play with mommy and daddy. I got concerned that he was always pretend fighting with them, so one day I said "hi friend" when he handed me a dinosaur and it stuck...)

Gavin picks up two rocks and hands one to me

Gavin: "hi friend"

Mommy: "hi friend, my name's Bob. What's yours?"

Gavin: "Chuck"

Gavin picks up two leaves from a nearby tree and hands one to me

Gavin: "hi friend"

Mommy: "hi friend" (Gavin starts waving his leaf around in the air)

Mommy: "what ya doin' friend?"

Gavin: "I'm going crazy."

Gavin picks up two handfuls of sand and hands one to me

Gavin: "hi friend"

Mommy: "No, I'm not playing pretend with a handful of sand." (I had to draw the line somewhere.)
