The first week of June was BUG WEEK! Each day the kids and I did something bug related and I tried to have a craft centered around bugs each day as well. Here's what our week looked like. It was SO MUCH FUN and the kids LOVED IT!!
MONDAY
Monday we went to the library and checked out tons of books on different kinds of bugs! The kids were really excited. Then in the afternoon we did a Counting caterpillar craft that included number and sequence recognition for Gavin and color/pattern recognition for Ellie.
Tuesday
I decided Tuesdays would be our field trip day so we went to the brand new Butterfly Wonderland in Scottsdale to see caterpillars, butterflies, ants, bees, a scorpion and a tarantula. The kids loved it so much we bought a membership. I can't wait to go again!

Wednesday
Wednesday we were supposed to go on a Bug Safari and find bugs outside, but it was too hot. So I made a spider web out of painters tape and we played a game with Gavin's toy bugs. Because I work Wednesday's we didn't do a craft, but the kids loved the spider web game.
Thursday
Thursday was craft day. It was a low key day since I'm usually exhausted after working till 4am. The kids had a fun time making spiders and lady bugs. Thursday afternoon I took Gavin to his Creepy Crawlie class (a city sponsored class where they learn about bugs and reptiles). They learned about scorpions and made a scorpion out of paper and pipe cleaners.
Friday
As it says on the weekly schedule, Fridays are movie days. So we invited some friends over to watch A Bug's Life and have some treats.
WHAT A FUN WEEK LEARNING ABOUT BUGS!!
