So one of the strategies our child psychologist has us doing with Gavin is teaching him how to accept NO well. He tends to have a complete melt down every time he is told no. So we have a star, and every time he accepts no well and doesn't throw a big fit, the star moves up. When it gets to the top of the door, Gavin gets to go fishing with his dad. So, we had a couple good minding days in a row a few weeks ago and guess what made it to the top of the door? That's right, the star!
We took the kids to a nice breakfast in the morning and then Jason took the kids (Ellie didn't want to be left out) fishing!

This reminds me of a similar experience with Randy and Keilie. He took her birthday shopping and came home with a HUGE doll house, many dolls, and many more accessories. When I asked him what he was thinking, since Keilie had NEVER played with dolls, he said, "I just couldn't say no to her cute face!" Dads are the best!!!
